Zigzag Music Productions is a recording studio/multitrack location recording facility and music production company based in the village of Hilton, Cambridgeshire, UK, providing a service based on an invaluable musical and technical understanding of the recording and production process.
Our client base is very broad, locally, nationally and internationally with work ranging from:

Background
Gareth Stuart is a sound engineer with a Tonmeister Postgraduate Diploma from the University of Surrey. He is also a clarinetist and studied with Anton Weinberg at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama in the early ’80s, in addition to the clarinet Gareth plays saxophone and electric guitar and is active in both classical and popular music. Recent performances include John Adams’ “Grand Pianola Music”, Julio d’Escrivan’s “Ayayay” (West Road, Cambridge) and Messiaen’s “Quartet for the End of Time” (Little St. Mary’s, Cambridge).
The recording business got under way in March 1986, following Gareth’s graduation with distinction (CCAT 1982-84 – GMus – majoring in solo performance on alto saxophone and electronic composition) and a post-graduate diploma – pgDip (Tonmeister Studies) (Surrey University 1984-85).
Zigzag Music Productions was established in the summer of 1992 as a creative (husband and wife) partnership between Gareth and Amanda Stuart.
Amanda also graduated with distinction (CCAT 1983-85 – majoring in solo performance on flute and composition). She also has an LGSM from the Guildhall School of Music, an ALCM from the London College of Music and a PGCE (post graduate certificate of education).
In addition to Zigzag Music Productions:
Gareth is a part-time lecturer at Anglia Ruskin University, Cambridge, teaching the 1st year “Recording Techniques” and 2nd year “Studio Project” modules on the Creative Music Technology BA (Hons) degree course;
Amanda is a local freelance peripatetic music teacher.
